TaylorMade Introduces the New Ghost Spider S Putter

lowpriceaugolf -

The Ghost Spider S putter represents the culmination of 16 months of product seeding on the PGA Tour. (Five different prototypes were dubbed "Ghost Itsy Bitsy Spider.") European Ryder Cupper Peter Hanson, in fact, will be using it at Medinah this week.

Made of a steel frame with an aluminum center section, the high-MOI putter is 20-percent smaller than the original Ghost Spider yet offers similar MOI numbers (stability). Its "PureRoll" face insert has grooves to promote forward roll while the Surlyn material delivers a softer feel than previous inserts.

The black center section -- flush to the white leading edge -- aids alignment while limiting distractions. The 360-gram head has a pair of 2-gram rear weights. You can purchase weights, up to 16 grams each, to boost head weight to 388 grams.

The Ghost Spider S comes in a face-balanced version for straight-back putting strokes as well as a 30-degree toe-down version for players with a slight arc stroke. The putter ($179) will be at retail stores starting Nov. 1.
