Having played forged irons off taylormade burner 2.0 irons for years I can honestly say that these AP2 714 Irons are the best I have played. If you are an intermediate to skilled player you will love they way they play and feel. They are players clubs and well designedand function beautifully for the more skilled player. Generally for forged irons they are more forgiving that blades.Titleist always delivers a high quality product.
Unveiled recently to Tour Pros at Congressional Country Club, the highly awaited and anxiously anticipated Titleist 714 AP2 irons are now being released outside the pro circuit. Completely updated, the new 714 AP2 irons are loaded with new elements and substantial design updates that dramatically enhance the clubs' flight, feel and forgiveness.
Go further than you ever thought possible with the Titleist Men's AP2 714 Irons. Longer flight, with better trajectory control, means you can stick your shot on even the smallest of greens. Solid feel is achieved throughout the set due to a progressive center of gravity that's lower in longer irons and higher in short irons. The dual cavity design, with high density tungsten weighting, helps deliver consistent speed with a high moment of Inertia design.
The Titleist AP2 714 irons are precision engineered for advanced performance. Precise iron play means controlling both trajectory and distance to stop your shot near the pin. They are precision engineered for optimum flight and distance, with increased forgiveness to help you hit it close. They have a longer flight with more carry distance from higher launching, low CG long irons and compact, flatter launching short irons. Titleist has increased forgiveness with the dual cavity design with high density tungsten weighting for maximum ball speed across the face. The solid feel and progressive CG location (lower in the long irons) for longer flight and solid feel through the set.
These irons have been developed for advanced performance combined the traditional look of bladed irons to give you advanced playability. The cavity back design makes the AP2 irons versatile without losing workability. The club heads allow you to gain maximum shot control as the heads feature a minimal progressive offset mixed with the traditional constant blade length design which is also the home of a more efficient multi weight distribution. This superior appearance from the Satin polish finish mixed with the improved new square profile appearance with a thin top line and a rounder profile for a classic but contemporary and elegant look.
The dual-cavity and high-MOI design with high-density tungsten weighting (shown in blue) offers maximum ball speed across the face, resulting in increased forgiveness and consistent speed on miss-hits for much better distance control. The progressive CG location (lower in the long irons) offers a longer flight and solid feel throughout the set, and you get crisp turf release from the camber sole with its pre-worn leading edge and beveled trailing edge.
To sum up,awesome clubs, great feel and super sweet spot.Unlike titleist cb 714 irons, I had no problem hitting these from the first day . Love the blade look from above with the forgiveness of a cavity back. Had no problem hitting various shots and enjoyed finding that sweet spot and watching the results. Would recommend these to anyone who can hit forged clubs who maybe arent ready for a true blade.
