As we all know U.S. Open is short for the United States Open Championship, which is the annual open golf tournament of the United States. It is the second of the four major championships in golf, and is on the official schedule of both the PGA Tour and the European Tour. It is staged by the United States Golf Association (USGA) in mid-June, scheduled so that, if there are no weather delays, the final round is played on the third Sunday, which is Father's Day

It is June now, and this years’ U.S. Open is coming soon. It is now during the last step of collecting golf pros. Among them, NCAA champion Cameron Wilson was lucky to be one of the five players added to this week’s U.S. Open field.

When it comes to Wilson, we know that he was top 10 ranked in the high school class of 2010 by Golfweek / Sagarin. He was named the Metropolitan Golf Association Jerry Courville Sr. Player of the Year for 2009,the youngest winner in the history of the award.

In 2009 he was also named an American Junior Golf Association All-American as well as a picked as a member of the U.S. Challenge Cup and AJGA Canon Cup Teams. Wilson made it to the round of 8 in the 2009 USGA Junior Amateur at Trump National Golf Club, playing with Callaway X2 Hot Driver to get 1st in the 2009 AJGA Nationwide Open at the Ohio State Scarlet Course, and first in the 2009 Carter Cup at Baltusrol Golf Club.

The USGA holds five spots for players who could qualify for the 156-man Open via the top 60 in the Official World Ranking. Two of those berths went to recent playoff losers, Kevin Na (Memorial) and Bernd Wiesberger (Lyoness Open).

The other three spots went to alternates from sectional qualifiers – Wilson (New York), Craig Barlow (California) and amateur Brandon McIver (Oregon). This will be Wilson’s second Open appearance (2012), while Barlow will be making his sixth career start from a ping g25 hybrid and McIver his debut.

Wilson is in the first group off Thursday, at 6:45 a.m. ET with Daniel Berger and Brett Stegmaier. Na will go off at 7:18 a.m. off 10 alongside Patrick Reed and Ryan Moore. And Barlow will play taylormade tour preferred mb irons 2014 at Pinehurst with Tom Lewis and Justin Thomas, beginning at 8:35 a.m. off 1 tee.

In addition, Wiesberger will begin his Open at 1:58 p.m. off 10 with Toru Taniguchi and Hyung-Sung Kim, while McIver will play with Smylie Kaufman and fellow amateur Maverick McNaly at 8:46 a.m. off 10.
